Rishad Hossain hit a blistering 48 off 18 balls to power Bangladesh to a series-clinching four-wicket win in the third ODI against Sri Lanka at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.

The game was seemingly going down the wire when Mehedi Hasan Miraz got dismissed in the 37th over. But Rishad dispelled any fears with an innings that had five fours and four sixes, all against Wanindu Hasaranga, to ensure Bangladesh finished the game with 58 balls in hand.

Mushfiqur Rahim hit the winning boundary and remained unbeaten on 37 off 36 balls.

Earlier, concussion substitute Tanzid Hasan Tamim had made 84 off 81 balls to set up the chase.

For Sri Lanka, pacer Lahiru Kumara was the stand-out bowler, claiming 4 for 48 in his eight overs

Miraz departure makes way for Rishad storm

Mehedi Hasan Miraz threw away his wicket with a loose shot, as Bangladesh lose their sixth wicket chasing 236 to win the third ODI and the series against Sri Lanka in Chattogram today.

Miraz pulled a short-pitched delivery from Wanindu Hasaranga but managed to find the lone fielder at the backward square region, departing for 25 off 40 balls.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Miraz added 48 runs for the sixth wicket as the Tigers were slowly closing in on the target. But the wicket has brought Rishad Hossain to the middle, who hit two sixes and one four against the same over to bring the equation down to 42 off 78 balls.

Rishad has raced to 16 off five balls while Mushfiqur is unbeaten on 26 off 29 balls.

Tanzid departs, Bangladesh feeling the heat

Tanzid made 84 off 81 balls, which is the highest score for a concussion sub in ODIs, previous best being Australia's Marnus Labuschagne's 80 against South Africa.

This was also Tanzid's highest score in ODIs, the previous best being 51 against India in last year's ICC World Cup. Tanzid came in as a concussion substitute for opener Soumya Sarkar.

After Tanzid, the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim has been joined by Mehedi Hasan Miraz.

Janith Liyanage hit a stellar century that took a struggling Sri Lanka to 235 in their 50 overs in the series-deciding third ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.

The Bangladesh bowlers dominated most of the innings, but Liyanage's unbeaten 101 off 102 balls, which included 11 fours and two sixes, and his 60-run eighth wicket partnership with Maheesh Theekshana (15 off 40 balls) put a dampener on those efforts.

Taskin Ahmed led the charge for Bangladesh, claiming 3 wickets for 42 runs while Mustafizur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan Miraz claimed a couple of wickets each.

The innings also ended in a worrisome note for the Tigers as Mustafizur had to leave the field on a stretcher, Soumya Sarkar hurt his knee while fielding in the deep and substitute fielder Jaker Ali collided with Anamul Haque in the final over while fielding and also had to be carried out of the field on a stretcher.
