Dhawan frustrated with incessant rain

After only 133.4 overs' play in the first four days of the one-off Test between Bangladesh and India for rain, one shouldn't have any doubt about what to expect on the final day. And India opener Shikhar Dhawan was no exception and only expecting more rain on the fifth day of the match at Fatullah.

"Last day [laughs]? According to the weather, we expect more rain. But if we get to play, it will be good for us and for the spectators too," responded the 29-year-old when asked about his expectations for the last day during the post-day press conference.

Dhawan, who plundered 173 runs to set the tone for India's big first innings score, did not hold back his frustration while talking about the rain playing foul since the first day of the match.

"It is very disappointing. Of course we get up very early to come to the ground and we always look forward to playing cricket. And when it doesn't happen, we feel sad. But it's not in our hands so we have to accept it and move on," said a disgruntled Dhawan.

He said that if play was possible on all five days then they would have pursued their original plan that is going all out for a win. "But you can't control the weather, so you can't do anything about it," he added.

The left-hander was however satisfied with his comeback innings.

"I'm very satisfied with the way I've played in this match. I have not been performing that well in Test matches earlier, so it felt really good scoring big runs. And I felt it came at the right time," said Dhawan.
