Tushar wins A team place

After prolonged heavy scoring in domestic cricket, veteran batsman Tushar Imran was rewarded yesterday with a place in the 15-member Bangladesh A team squad for the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka A.

Tushar, the first Bangladeshi to score 10,000 first-class runs, was included alongside Sabbir Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain.

The visitors, who will arrive in Bangladesh on June 23, will play three four-day matches -- the first two at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox's Bazar from June 26 and July 3 and the third from July 10 in Sylhet, which will also be the venue of the three-match one day series against the same opponents starting from July 17.
