Tigresses whitewashed once more
The tour ended as it started for the Bangladesh women's cricket team as they lost the third and final T20 to hosts South Africa by 23 runs in a rain-reduced match at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein yesterday.
The match was reduced to a nine-overs-a-side affair because of rain, and South Africa scored 64 for four after Bangladesh skipper Salma Khatun chose to field first. Tazmin Brits top-scored for the hosts with a 22-ball 29 and Salma was the best bowler for the tourists, with two for 18 from two overs.
Even that modest target proved too much for the Tigresses as they could manage just 41 for the loss of six wickets in the chase. Medium-pacer Ayabonga Khaka excelled with figures of 10 for three from her two overs.
The defeat sealed a 3-0 win for South Africa, which followed a 3-0 win for the hosts in the ODI series.
