Tigers' last day of training
As all the attention has been hogged by the women's cricket team winning the T20 Women's Asia Cup, the usually more adored men's side have been quietly conducting their training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Today will be their last day of training before the Eid break, after which they will fly to the Caribbean on June 23 for a full tour of the West Indies.
Some of the joy will be taken out of the Tigers' Eid vacation by the news that frontline pacer Mustafizur Rahman will very likely miss the first Test starting on July 4. The Bangladesh Cricket Board chief physician Debashish Chowdhury informed that there is a hairline fracture on the injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League on May 20.
"He is not able to do the strength and weight training at the moment as we are looking after his day-by-day progress. It is highly unlikely that he will be fit for the first Test, but we are still waiting," Chowdhury said.
