Tigers post commanding 301 for six

Despite a slow start, the Tigers managed to finish the first innings of the final and third ODI of the series on a high note as they posted 301 runs for six wickets after 50 overs, courtesy of a brilliant Tamim Iqbal century and a blistering 67 runs off just 49 balls by Mahmudullah Riyad.
Having won the toss Bangladesh decided to bat in the final ODI of the series with the Tigers starting with the same eleven that featured in the previous two games. However, West Indies made two changes in their side. Kieran Powell and Sheldon Cottrell replaced Jason Mohammed and Alzarri Joseph respectively.
Bangladesh got off to steady start as the Tigers managed to score only 37 runs for the loss of one wicket after the end of 10 overs. Anamul gave an easy catch into the hands of the fielder at mid-on as he attempted to play a rather ordinary hook shot off a Jason Holder delivery.
After Anamul Haque gave his wicket away cheaply, Bangladesh's dependable left arm opener Tamim Iqbal went on to score a third consecutive half-century in the series to put the Tigers in a commanding position in the third and final ODI and later building on it to reach his second century in the series.
Tamim and Shakib Al Hasan then put on an 81 run partnership before Shakib got dismissed by top edging a ball to the deep square fielder. Tamim got dismissed scoring 103 off 124 balls few overs after Mushfiqur Rahim missed his opportunity to reach the milestone of being sixth highest run-getter as a wicketkeeper in all formats of international cricket as he got dismissed after just scoring 12 runs.
Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza promoted himself up in the batting order as he came in after the dismissal of Tamim and proved his worth by scoring 36 runs off just 25 balls.
Mahmudullah then continued till the end and finished off the innings on a high note for the Tigers.
After bouncing back from a disastrous 2-match test series defeat with a 48-run win in the first ODI, Bangladesh missed a golden opportunity to ensure a series win against West Indies as the Tigers snatched a 3-run defeat in the second ODI in Guyana last Wednesday. However, after posting the highest ever total of Bangladesh against West Indies, the Tigers will surely be looking to win the series.
