Bangladesh star pacer Rubel Hossain mourned the loss of young lives due to a tragic bus accident where two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College were killed with at least nine others injured, after two buses started a race near the ramp of Airport road flyover.

Rubel is currently with the Tigers' squad which completed a first series win outside Asia in nine years with a 2-1 ODI series victory over West Indies. While the country and its cricketers were in celebratory mood, the tragic accident brought back the sharp pangs of human loss and stark reality of what it feels like to commute the roads of Dhaka.

Like many, the cricketer raised his voice against this thoughtless tragedy.

He wrote on his Facebook page:

"Speaking to the driver brothers out there,

"Because you did not follow traffic rules today, because you raced between yourself, some parents lost their children, some children lost their parents.

Remember that you will have to pay for these tears. These tears are not from just the classmates, family members or close relatives only! These tears belong to the whole country, of everyone…"

Rubel also posted a photo which showed dead bodies of the two students whose lives were so brutally taken away.  Two other photos showed classmates and relatives in mourning.

Passengers of the buses said the vehicles raced against each other on the flyover and one of them got down the ramp first. Uttara-bound 'Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan' rammed into a group of students who were waiting for a bus to arrive.
