Rony notches blazing double hundred
Rony Talukdar carried on from 100 not out yesterday to strike a double hundred for Dhaka Division against Chattogram in the National Cricket League match at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah today.
Dhaka declared their second innings at 385 for one to take a lead of 481, having bowled Chattogram out for 142 in the first innings. Batsman Abdul Majid also carried on from his unbeaten 66 yesterday to complete a ton as the opening pair put on 350 runs for the opening partnership.
Rony, who in recent years, has been up there with the top ten run getters in the domestic circuit, scored his runs quickly at a strike rate of 90.48 to get to his double hundred. His unbeaten 252-ball 228 knock contained 18 fours and seven sixes. It was Rony's ninth hundred in first class cricket and it was also his biggest score in the domestic circuit.
After Ariful Haque had struck a double hundred for Rangpur, which was the 48th double hundred of the domestic competetion yesterday, Rony's double hundred today became the 49th double ton of the National Cricket League.
