Malaysia the final hurdle

A spirited Bangladesh women's cricket team will meet their winless Malaysian counterparts today with a more than even chance of reaching the final of the Women's T20 Asia Cup at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

A win in their last league match will take them to tomorrow's final of the regional competition where they will face off with the winner of today's India-Pakistan match. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are in a race to the final as all three have six points each and a win will be enough for the Tigresses to book their place in the title-decider.

After suffering a heavy defeat in the opening match against Sri Lanka, the Salma Khatun-led side bounced back strongly to win three consecutive matches against Pakistan, India and Thailand to brighten their final hopes. However, if Bangladesh are shocked by Malaysia today and Sri Lanka beat Thailand to reach six points, net run-rate may decide the finalists.
