Liton and who else?
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to decide on the new inclusions to the central contracts. After Wednesday's board meeting it was disclosed that three more rookie players would be brought under the payroll but according to sources, the cricket operations committee is yet to reach any conclusion about whether they will go for the rookies.
"We take one week and hopefully sit with the selectors within the next two days to discuss the matter," said cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan yesterday.
It was learned that only Liton Das has so far been brought under the payroll, but there are no other feasible options available, so it would not be surprising if he is the only new inclusion to the list.
There were questions about the omission of Mosaddek Hossain, but it was learnt that in his case, there were factors beyond performance that led to his exclusion.
The 10 players retained under central contracts are Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Taijul Islam, Mominul Haque, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain and Mehedi Hasan Miraz.
The board is also yet to categorise the players. "We will also discuss that issue in our next meeting."
