Bangladesh A taste first defeat
Bangladesh A faced their first defeat in the third of the five-match one-day series against their Irish counterparts, falling 34 runs short in chase of 247 at the Oak Hill Cricket Club yesterday.
The visitors being unable to stitch together any significant partnership was the main reason behind their downfall. Skipper Mominul Haque's 46 was the highest score for Bangladesh as they were bundled out for 211 in 46.3 overs.
Right arm seamer Tyrone Kane took four wickets while Andy McBrine and Barry McCarthy picked up three apiece for the bowling side.
Earlier, Ireland A were bowled out for 246 in 49.3 overs. They were struggling on 53-3 at one stage before Stuart Thompson (69) and McBrine added 101 runs for the fourth wicket.
Pacer Khaled Ahmed bagged four wickets while conceding 42 runs from his ten overs while left arm spinner Sunzamul Islam and medium pacer Saifuddin took two wickets each for the visitors.
