PLOT: "The Wizard of Oz" is adapted from L. Frank Baum's novel. The story is about a Kansas girl, Dorothy, and her journey over the window. She follows a yellow brick road to find her way back home. On the way she meets a tin man, a scarecrow and a lion. They become friends and embark on an amazing adventure together.
REVIEW: The movie is an American musical fantasy-comedy which is considered a crowning achievement in 1930s filmmaking. It shows that good acting and directing can make a marvelous film, even though your mind tells you the set is faked. Such elements can strengthen the suspension of disbelief and instantly make a movie enjoyable.
"The Wizard of Oz" is probably the greatest children's movie ever made. The magical thing about this film is that not only will you fall in love with the characters but also with the actors who play them. Judy Garland portrayed the role of Dorothy the small girl very wonderfully. The scarecrow, the tin man and the lion symbolize concepts of bravery, love and devotion. It is meant to represent the colorful palette of our imagination. This movie has that swagger that took viewers' heart to eternity and from there it saw the entire world in a very amusing way. It's going to be seventy-nine years since it was first release and yet it is timeless. "The Wizard of Oz" proves that classics never die.
