Old games, new fun
The enthusiasm for board games creates a sense of nostalgia in everyone. While newer generations tend to grow up with technology and video games, the capability to enjoy classic board games can only incite joy, and keep the love going.
Ink Studio, in collaboration with Board Games Dhaka—a community of board game enthusiasts—hosted an event on December 28, 2019 where people could come and relive childhood moments, and create new memories playing board games. The event included classic board games such as carom, darts, Connect 4 as well as some modern ones such as Azul, Terraforming Mars, and Cards Against Humanity. One of the big hits of the night amongst the attendees was the classic game with a modern twist—Monopoly: Game of Thrones edition. The event, titled "Board Games & Chill", was hosted at Ink Studio, a space that functions as a co-working office during the weekdays, in Uttara and entrants were treated to food from Frybox, a new delivery-only food brand in Dhaka.
People started piling into the space from the afternoon and the attendants left late into the evening when the event came to a close. There was, however, the consolation that the second iteration of the event would be organised soon in 2020. In a city where finding a spot to relax in comes at a hefty price, Ink Studio offers the opportunity for city dwellers to enjoy fun, creative events in a relaxed environment.
