MATCH 10: PAKISTAN VS WEST INDIES
West Indies 310/4 (50 Overs)
Pakistan 160 (39 Overs)                 West Indies beat Pakistan by 150 runs

West Indies beat Pakistan today by a big margin of 150 runs for their first win in the ICC cricket World Cup 2015 at Christchurch.

Umar Akmal and Shoaib Maqsood's fighting knocks could not make a difference for Pakistan as their frontline batsmen were overshadowed by the Caribbeans.

Put to bat first, West Indies made a late dash and set Pakistan a target of 310.

Denesh Ramdin was the highest scorer with 51, followed by Lendl Simmons, 50, Dwayne Bravo, 49, and a dashing 17-ball 42 from Andre Russel.

Haris Sohail took two wickets for Pakistan while Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan and Sohail Khan each claiming one apiece. Pakistan dropped several catches on the field.

The innings was heralded by West Indies losing two early wickets, Pakistan's dismal show on the field and over a hundred runs scored in fiery batting in the last over.

Coming in to chase the target, Pakistan started worst in the history of World Cup.

Umar Akmal, 59, and Shoaib Maqsood, 50, tried to revive Pakistan, but the pressure of wicket loss proved too heavy a burden for the middle-order batsmen.

Jerome Taylor and Andre Russel took three wickets apiece for West Indies, Sulieman Benn claimed two for himself and Jason Holder and Darren Sammy picked one apiece.

West Indies now have secured two points in two matches owing to their defeat in a previous match against underdog Ireland. Pakistan, on the other hand, lost both matches they played.
