Australia issues 3,000 visas for Ukrainians fleeing war

Australia has welcomed Ukrainians fleeing the war with bipartisan support as its government has promised to expedite student, skilled worker, and tourist visas for them, according to MSN News.
So far, 3,000 visas have been issued and at least 300 Ukrainians are arriving, the report said yesterday.
However, the majority of Ukrainians are arriving on tourist visas -- having paid over $1,000 each for last-minute flights out of central Europe.
Australia is yet to announce any onshore humanitarian packages or temporary protection visas for Ukrainians.
