Health workers’ contribution to be written in golden letters in Bangladesh’s history: US Ambassador
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R Miller today referred to health workers of Bangladesh as heroes for their contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The story of the health workers of Bangladesh will be written in golden letters in the pandemic history," Miller said while inspecting Covid-19 vaccination programme at President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed Residential Model School and College in Munshiganj, reports our local correspondent.
"Teachers have also played an important role. Students could not go to school. Yet, the teachers have always kept them on the right track through various programmes. Teachers have played the role of counsellors as well," he also said.
He spoke to health workers, students and teachers during his visit.
"Bangladesh has courageously and successfully dealt with Covid-19. But, we still have to be careful. We should get vaccinated, wear masks and continue washing hands," he also said.
"After talking to students I have observed that they are not afraid to get vaccinated; they are getting vaccinated bravely," he added.
