Woman, grandson dead in M'singh road accident

A woman and her grandson were killed and five others were injured when a human hauler collided with a rice-laden trolley on the Mymensingh-Haluaghat road at Alalpur area in Mymensingh Sadar upazila this evening (October 29, 2022).

The victims were identified as Halima Akter (52), and her grandson Sanny (7), hailing from Tarakanda, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting police.

They were returning home from Mymensingh city.

Quoting locals, Md Shah Kamal Akanda, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station said the incident happened around 7.30pm.

On information, police recovered the bodies and seized the two vehicles. But the drivers of the vehicles managed to flee the scene, he said.

The injured were admitted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

A case was lodged with the police station in this connection, he added.
