Garment worker stabbed to death in Ctg

A garment worker was stabbed to death in Chattogram's Madhyam Halishahar area today.

The victim has been identified as Chadni Khatun, 25, from Khulna. She worked at Evertobe (BD) Ltd.

According to police, the incident took place around 4:00pm at Baker Ali Tekar Mor area.

The perpetrator managed to escape despite being chased by locals, said police.

Officer-in-Charge Kazi Md Sultan Ahsan Uddin of Bandar Police Station said, "A man stabbed the female worker in her neck when she was walking. Hearing her cries for help, nearby pedestrians and locals attempted to catch the attacker, but he managed to flee. Later, the victim was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), where doctors declared her dead."

CMCH police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Nur Alam Ashek, said, "The victim bore injury marks on her throat."

The body has been kept at the CMCH morgue for autopsy.
