5 dead in Bogura road accident; bus set on fire

Five people died after a Dhaka-bound bus hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw at Banani bypass road in Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogura this morning. 

The accident took place at 10:30am, said Abdul Jalil, assistant director of Bogura Fire Service Station. 

Three passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot and the driver died after he was taken to a local hospital, Abdul Jalil said.

A child died while undergoing treatment in Bogura's Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital around 2:00pm, said Lalon Hossain, assistant sub-inspector at the hospital's police outpost.

Locals set fire to the bus after the incident which was later doused by fire fighters, the official added.

The deceased are yet to be identified.
