N’ganj man flees after testing positive for coronavirus, 40 contacts quarantined
A man in Narayanganj reportedly fled from his house after he tested positive for coronavirus and was informed in this regard.
The incident happened in Sonargaon upazila in the district where the 35-year-old, hailing from Keshabpur of Jashore, used to work as a security guard at a house in Kanchpur Sonapur area, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.
The man recently fell ill with fever, cold, cough and breathing complication. His samples were collected on Saturday and sent to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for Covid-19 test, said Saidul Islam, Sonargaon upazila nirbahi officer.
His test report came positive for coronavirus this noon, the UNO said, adding that the upazila administration went to his home for his treatment purposes and to ensure quarantine of the persons he might have come in contact with, but he was not there.
Locals said he fled for his ancestral home after he was informed about testing positive for coronavirus, the UNO also said.
Forty people who came in contact with the infected man have been placed in home quarantine, but samples were not collected from any of them since they are still not exhibiting any symptom, UNO Saidul said.
Local administration of the man's ancestral home have been informed in this regard, he added.
