Over 500 arrested in Egypt since Friday

More than 500 people have been arrested across Egypt since demonstrations broke out in Cairo and other cities, a local rights group said Monday. Hundreds of Egyptians took to the streets on Friday and Saturday in rare demonstrations calling for the departure of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Egypt effectively banned protests under a law passed in 2013.
