Bangladesh strongly condemns drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia
Bangladesh has strongly condemned the drone attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the Houthi rebels on February 10 and 17.
The attack hit a parked commercial aircraft causing damage on February 10, but the second attack was intercepted and destroyed by the Joint Coalition Forces before hitting targets.
Following the attempted attack on Riyadh, the Arab Coalition also confirmed that it was monitoring the launching of a number of explosive drones by the Houthis in Yemen and that it had intercepted and destroyed one targeting Jazan and at least 4 others targeting the Kingdom's southern cities.
"These unprovoked acts by the Houthi rebels undermine the peace and security in the region," said a foreign ministry statement today.
It said Bangladesh calls for immediate cessation of such attacks and reiterates solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of such aggression.
Bangladesh also expressed its full support to the Kingdom against any threat to its security and territorial integrity and in their efforts to bring about lasting peace and stability in the region.
