Dengue fever: 68 patients hospitalised in 24 hours

Sixty-eight dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 21 are from outside of Dhaka.
With the new cases, a total 382 were diagnosed during the running month out of the total 27,604 dengue infection this year.
Of the total infected, 4,392 are from outside the capital.
At least 3,567 dengue patients were hospitalised in November, 5,458 in October, 7,841 in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May and rest are from January to April, according to the DGHS.
Till date 98 people died of the infection in the country this year. Twelve people died in July while 34 died in August and 23 in September, 22 in October and seven in November.
Among the deaths, 90 have died in Dhaka division, two each Chattogram, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 279 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 63 outside the capital, the DGHS data showed.
