Dengue fever: 103 patients hospitalised in 24 hours
At least 103 patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the new cases, only 14 are outside of Dhaka.
A total of 725 were diagnosed during the running month out of a total 24,380 infected. Of the total infected, 3,564 are from outside of Dhaka.
At least 5,458 were hospitalised in October, 7,841 in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May and rest are from January to April, according to the DGHS.
According to the DGHS, 95 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. Twelve people died in July while 34 have died in August and 23 in September, 22 in October and four in November so far.
Among the deaths, 87 have died in Dhaka division, two each in Chattogram division, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 705 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 160 outside the capital, the DGHS data showed.
