Covid positivity on downtrend: 27 deaths, 5,268 cases reported in 24 hours
At least 5,268 new infections were recorded and 27 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 15.46 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.69 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,771 and the mortality rate stands at 1.51 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 18,99,803, added the release.
A total of 34,067 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.
At least 11,353 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 16,55,981 and the recovery rate at 87.17 percent, added the release.
Of the 27 deceased, 15 were male and 12 were female.
Of them, one was between 0-10 years old, one between 31-40, one within 41-50, seven between 51-60, 11 were between 61-70, five within 71-80, one was between 91-100 years old, added the release.
