‘Tin Shoroter Golpo’ releases on Bioscope
Narrating the tale of Selim and his wife, Humayun Rashid Samrat's "Tin Shoroter Golpo" was released on Bioscope today. The production, which was released under the banner of Baro Voot LTD, features Mosharraf Karim and Robena Reza Jui in the leading roles, alongside Shahidullah Sabuz and Hasi Moon, among others.
Set in the rural region, the plot of this project revolves around the life of Selim, a poor village dweller whose only dream is to own a mobile-recharge shop in the village's bazar. However, Selim is reluctant when it comes to physical labour and thus, takes the path of crime to reach his goal.
The screenplay of this production is written by Shibu Kumer Shill.
"Selim is greedy, illiterate, and can stoop to any extent to reach his goals," shares director Samrat. "However, Selim has his own sorrows to deal with, which humanises his character."
The production has been shot in Harirampur, Manikganj. "We chose to shoot this production by the banks of the Padma River as Selim's journey is parallel to the nature Padma—tough at times, reckless and rebellious when anyone tries to control it, and calm when formulating a new course of action," adds Samrat.
"The location we chose for this production was phenomenal. It took me back to my childhood memories," says Mosharraf Karim. "There are multiple layers in the character of Selim—a father, a sinner, and an ambitious villager. I hope the audience accepts the social message we have tried to put forward through this story."
The production is currently streaming for free on Bioscope.
