Remembering the 90s divas from Dhallywood

Over the decades, many actresses have emerged on the silver screen of Dhallywood. While some of them have managed to reserve a permanent place in the industry, many have lost their shine on the screen over the course of time.
Let us take a look at some of the most promising divas who ruled over the silver screen during the 90s, but have now faded away from the audience's mind over time.
Shabnur emerged as one of the most popular faces on the silver screen during the 90s. Starting her acting career with noted director Ehtesham's production "Chadni Raat", she garnered much appreciation for her chemistry alongside Salman Shah.
The actress, who has been away from the glamour of showbiz for years now, is currently an Australian expatriate.
With three National Awards to her name, Popy made her presence felt with notable performances in films like "Karagar", "Megher Koley Rod", "Gongajatra" and "Amar Ghor Amar Behest", over the course of two decades. However, the diva abruptly bid farewell to show business, and is currently enjoying a private life with her family. Rumours say, she left her journey abruptly, leaving multiple projects incomplete.
Stepping into the limelight with "Chandni", Shabnaz was also a popular face opposite Salman Shah during the 90s. Despite bagging commercially successful projects, the actress has now completely stepped away from the camera.

Tamanna's "Vondo" managed to captivate the attention of critics, along with her performance in "Pagol Tor Jonno", where she was featured opposite Riaz. Despite being cast in other notable productions, the actress decided to end her career in Bangla cinema. Tamanna currently resides in Sweden.
Glamour Girl Jona, who had made a promising debut opposite Shakib Khan with "Hridoyer Bashi", is currently living a quiet life in the US. Despite delivering several hits like "Daktar Bari", "Biyer Logon", "Bajao Biyer Bajna", "Jonmo" and "Mon Chuyeche Mon", the actress failed to sustain a career in the industry, and slowly disappeared from the silver screen.
Celebrated actress Moushumi's younger sister Erin Zaman stepped into films with "Ononto Bhalobasha" where she shared the screen with Shakib Khan. The "Shonar Moyna Pakhi" actress decided to step off the limelight after a while and is currently a US resident.
Having worked in over 40 films, Saquiba Bintay Ali, who entered Dhallywood with "Vondo Neta", also decided to leave the industry for good. Some of her notable works include "Durdhorsho", "Bostir Chhele Kotipoti", "Ek Joban", "Matir Thikana" and "Rupantor", among others.
Actress Lima rose to fame with her debut "Prem Juddho", where she shared the screen with Salman Shah. Lima starred in around 25 films, including Kamal Sarkar's "Sukher Agun" and Delwar Jahan Jhantu's "Premgeet". After relentlessly working in Dhallywood for eight years, the actress suddenly decided to alter her aims, bidding farewell to the industry forever.
