Lockdown of Agrani Bank’s principal branch lifted

Agrani Bank has withdrawn the lockdown of its principal branch. The branch was locked down as one of their employees tested positive for Covid-19 initially, but no presence of the virus was apparent in the final test.
The principal branch of the state-run lender, located at the ground floor of its headquarters in Dhaka's Motijheel area, was locked down on April 8 until further notice after the initial test found the employee to be infected with coronavirus.
Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, managing director of Agrani Bank, confirmed the development to The Daily Star.
The branch's operation will resume tomorrow as per instruction of the central bank, he said.
"We have discussed the matter with the civil surgeon, the central bank and Motijheel police station before lifting the lockdown," Islam said.
