Retired doctor dies of Covid-19
A retired doctor died of coronavirus in Dhaka today.
Dr Shafiqul Islam, a first batch student of Sir Salimullah Medical College, breathed his last at Bangladesh Specialised Hospital around 9:00am.
Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury, joint secretary of the Foundation for Doctors' Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR), confirmed it to The Daily Star.
He tested Covid-19 positive three weeks back and since then, he was undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialised Hospital, Dr Rahat said.
With him, at least 41 doctors have died of Covid-19 so far and six others passed away with coronavirus symptoms, according to FDSR.
