Coronavirus: Policemen of one Gopalganj station quarantined
All the cops of Muksudpur Police Station in Gopalganj were sent to quarantine yesterday night after one of their colleague tested positive for coronavirus.
Among the cops, the officer-in-charge and the second officer of the station have been in home quarantine and other policemen have been quarantined at Muksudpur Degree College, our Faridpur correspondent reports quoting police.
"A constable of our police station was suffering from fever, cold and cough since April 1, and was sent to his house at Sibalaya upazila in Manikganj on leave on April 6," said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (investigation) of the police station.
Manikganj health department collected his samples for coronavirus test and it came out positive, he said.
After hearing the news, all members of the police station were sent to quarantine, Mizanur, who has also been quarantined, said.
"As all the policemen of our station are in quarantine, other policemen from different stations joined here to continue the work," said Mir Md Sajedur Rahman, OC of Muksudpur Police Station.
Niaz Mohammad, civil surgeon of Goplaganj, said, "We will gradually collect samples of all policemen for tests."
"We don't have capacity to collect more than 12 samples a day," he added.
