Prime Bank PLC has partnered with the Blind Education and Rehabilitation Development Organisation (BERDO), a non-governmental organisation working for the education and rehabilitation of visually impaired individuals, to promote accessibility and financial inclusion through the distribution of Braille learning materials.

Under the initiative, the bank distributed 40 Braille books among visually impaired students to support their education and reaffirm its commitment to building an inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to learn, grow and participate in the formal financial and banking system.

MM Mahbub Hasan, senior vice-president and head of financial inclusion and school banking at the bank, handed over the books at a programme in Dhaka recently, according to a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahbub said Prime Bank remains committed to advancing financial inclusion by empowering persons with disabilities through accessible banking services, financial literacy and educational support.

He said meaningful inclusion can only be achieved when every individual is given the opportunity to contribute to the country’s economic development.

Md Saidul Huq, founder and executive director of BERDO, thanked Prime Bank for its support and appreciated the bank’s efforts to promote inclusive education and financial empowerment for visually impaired students.

He said partnerships between financial institutions and social organisations play a vital role in building a more equitable and financially inclusive society.

The initiative reflects Prime Bank’s continued commitment to empowering underserved communities and expanding access to education and financial services through partnerships across Bangladesh, the release said.
