Anwar Group of Industries gets new chairman

Manwar Hossain has recently been elected chairman of the Anwar Group of Industries. 

He succeeds his father, Anwar Hossain, the founder of the group, who passed away on August 17 at the age of 83 years.

Manwar was previously serving as managing director, said a press release.

Chairman of Bangladesh Finance Limited, he is now president of Bangladesh Steel Manufacturing Association, director of Modhumoti Bank Limited, sponsor promoter of BD Securities, BD Finance Capital Holdings Limited and City General Insurance Company Limited.

He was the former vice chairman of City Bank Ltd in 1999. He obtained an MBA degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1992 and joined the family business in 1993.
