Election of packaging makers’ association BPAMEA postponed

The commerce ministry has postponed the election of the Bangladesh Packaging & Accessories Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPAMEA) after a panel leader filed a complaint with the arbitration cell of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

The election was scheduled to be held on August 1 to elect the leadership for the 2026-28 tenure.

However, in a circular issued today, the commerce ministry said the election would remain on hold until the complaint is settled by the arbitration cell of the FBCCI, which is acting as the dispute settlement body for the trade body’s election.
