BIDA's two-day investment summit begins on Nov 28

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) is going to organise a two-day investment summit from November 28 to focus on the development of the investment environment in the country.
The summit will be held at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in Dhaka with the sponsorship of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to inaugurate the event virtually where around 1,000 from 10 countries are expected to take part in the summit, BIDA said at a press conference today.
Representatives of government and investors from the USA, United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirate, India, Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Netherlands have been invited to take part in the summit.
BIDA has also invited World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Development Bank, and Japan International Cooperation Agency to participate in the summit.
The local policymakers, investors and economists will also participate in the summit.
Addressing the programme Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment affairs adviser to the prime minister, said they are going to hold the summit to attract investments from foreign investors and Bangladeshi expatriates.
Md Sirazul Islam, executive chairman of BIDA said they are trying to attract more FDI in all sectors to ensure economic growth.
