Bangladesh Pratidin tops circulation list

Bangladesh Pratidin tops the list of highest circulated dailies in the country out of 345 newspapers published from Dhaka and elsewhere, the information minister told parliament yesterday.
The daily has a circulation of 5.53 lakh.
Among the 21 English dailies published from Dhaka, The Daily Star tops the list with a 41.15 thousand circulation, Hasanul Haq Inu said in a written statement.

In parliament, the minister submitted a list of 345 daily newspapers, enlisted with the Department of Films and Publications, and their circulations, which was prepared on March 2.
Other highest circulating dailies are Prothom Alo with 5 lakh, Kaler Kantha 2.50 lakh, Jugantor 2.21 lakh, Ittefaq 1.94 lakh, Amader Somoy 1.77 lakh, Janakantho 1.64 lakh, Samakal 1.64 lakh, Bartaman 1.50 lakh, and Inquilab 1.25 lakh.
Apart from the dailies published from Dhaka, there are 209 dailies published elsewhere in the country. Daily Korotoa tops the list of local dailies with a circulation of 33.19 thousand.
    Beside the dailies, there are 80 weekly, 18 fortnightly, 21 monthly, one quarterly and one half-yearly newspapers in the country.
