Associate professor of medical college in Cumilla dies of Covid-19
Another doctor, who was infected with Covid-19, died at United Hospital in Dhaka this morning.
Dr Mujibur Rahman Ripon was an associate professor of Central Medical College and Hospital in Cumilla.
Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury, joint secretary of the Foundation for Doctors' Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR), said the physician got admitted at the hospital with breathing difficulties on June 3 and he tested positive for Covid-19 there.
Later, the results of two consecutive tests during his treatment came negative. On June 16, doctors conducted another test and found he was Covid-19 positive. He was put on ventilation later as his condition deteriorated, he said.
With him, at least 42 doctors have died of Covid-19 so far and six others passed away with coronavirus symptoms, according to FDSR.
