Working in a London musical

Sudip Chakroborthy, a theatre artiste from Bangladesh recently designed the lights for a popular musical named Jew You Love Me? in London.

The Jewish Cabaret premiered the musical at Lion and Unicorn Theatre London on July 27. The story is about love, sexuality and self-discovery. It tells the story of human beings through Gabi – a 'straight' Jewish girl who ends up finding love in an unexpected partner, Ethan and Alon – a couple struggling with the concept of monogamy and hetero-normative love, and Bracha – a religious woman who's too afraid to explore her sexuality.

Written and directed by Shachar Shamai and David Djemal, set designed by Adi Loya, the play has been the topic of discussion, criticism and appreciation in the theatre arena.

Sudip is currently doing a PhD in Theatre at Goldsmiths, University of London as a Commonwealth scholar, funded by the UK government.
