Sowrav Das wins at LensCulture Street Photography Awards 2018
The UK-based LensCulture Street Photography Awards honours photographers who are redefining the genres of street photography today. This year was quite a memorable one, as the frontrunners of the event received work from photographers in more than 170 countries around the world. Among them, prominent Bangladeshi photo journalist Sowrav Das took home the first prize for the series category. His series, titled Floating Heroes sheds light on the daily struggles of men and women who often fall asleep on the vans parked beside the roads in Chattogram.
Sowrav Das, who considers taking photographs both as his passion and profession, began photography in 2001. He intends to make documentaries in the future.
