Shahed Sharif Khan turns poet
Popular actor Shahed Sharif Khan is a man of diverse talents, including directing and scriptwriting. The actor also dabbles in poetry, and will be marking his writing debut during this year's Ekushey Book Fair. The title of the book of poems is “Tomar Jonno”, distributed by ShobdoShilpo.
“I have no words to describe how elated I feel,” the actor told The Daily Star. “This accomplishment is very important and personal to me.”
The verses follow the form of conversations, which he undertook three years ago. The actor has kept a diverse audience in mind. “I hope it will appeal to readers of all age groups,” he said.
Despite his reputation in the showbiz, the actor has always been a writer at heart. Writing had been a passionate hobby since he had been a student at school, and over the years it became sporadic as his acting career took off. “I never wrote with the intent to publish,” said the actor. “But after showing a sample to Bipasha Hayat, she was greatly impressed and encouraged me to keep writing, which motivated me to invest myself more in writing.”
Aside from making an appearance at the Book Fair, the busy actor will also continue his presence on the big and small screen. He has currently wrapped up shooting for a Kolkata-based film, as well as numerous TV plays.
