National Award winning cinematographer Aminul Islam Mintu dies of Covid-19

Four-time National Award winning cinematographer Aminul Islam Mintu passed away yesterday due to Covid-19 at the capital's Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. He was 81 years of age.

His son, Farhan Islam and director Debashish Biswas confirmed the news to The Daily Star. He was in life support for the past 5 days. The cinematographer was laid to rest at the Banani Graveyard, after his Namaz-e-Janaza after Zuhr prayers.

Aminul Islam Mintu was renowned for his work in "Akheri Station", "Talash", "Payel", "Anari", "Chokori", "Chand ar Chandni", "Pich Dhala Poth", "Daag", "Bijli", "Sareng Bou", "Ongar" and "Goriber Bou", among many other memorable films.

He is survived by his children, Farhan Islam and Mona Islam.
