Celebrities join TikTok's #HoiShocheton campaign to promote responsible online and offline behaviour
Renowned celebrities in the country including Mehazabien Chowdhury, Imran Mahmudul, Samira Khan Mahi, Porshi, Arfin Rumey, Habib Wahid and others have joined popular social media content creators in the country in supporting the #HoiShocheton campaign, TikTok's recent initiative to help raise awareness among the digital community and promote responsible internet behaviour and user safety.
Actress Mehazabien Chowdhury commented, "I am pleased to extend my support to TikTok's #HoiShocheton campaign. I feel it's a great initiative and a much-needed reminder for all internet users to be vigilant and be mindful of their online and offline behaviour."
TikTok's campaign to promote online and offline safety comes after the platform received backlashes in recent times following the discovery of a human trafficking ring in Bangladesh and India that used TikTok to lure women. In the light of these events, the campaign urges netizens to exercise caution and act responsibly both online and offline.
"I believe that responsibility lies with all of us when it comes to verifying online and offline events. I am glad to be associated with #HoiShocheton and support TikTok's efforts to raise awareness in promoting safer internet behaviour," said singer Imran Mahmudul.
According to TikTok, this public service announcement campaign from TikTok is part of the platform's larger awareness drive #ApniSafeToAppSafe that aims to spread awareness around safer internet practices for users.
