“I want to play versatile roles” – Yash Rohan

Yash Rohan’s journey in the Bangladeshi film industry began with Gias Uddin Selim’s Swapnajaal (2017), where the newcomer was appreciated for his performance as Apu. His recent release Mayaboti, written and directed by Arun Chowdhuri, was well received by the audience as well. In a chat with The Daily Star, the actor talks about his busy schedules, upcoming ventures, and more.

What are your plans for 2020?

I am excited to work in new projects this year. I want to play versatile roles. Acting is my passion, and I feel privileged to be in this profession.  I just want to keep growing as an actor, with every passing year.

Your new film ‘Poran’ is set to release soon. Have you decided on any release date for the film yet?

Poran is mainly a tragic story and I have worked very hard for the film. I hope it manages to strike a chord with the audience. We are hoping to release the film this Valentine’s Day.

‘Poran’ is your first film with Bidya Sinha Mim. How was the experience of working with her?

Mim is a wonderful person and an amazing actor. We have become very good friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her and hope to work with her again soon.

What else are you currently busy with?

At the moment, I am busy shooting for the film Adom. The film, directed by Abu Towhid Hiron, is based on the story of two brothers and their dreams. The shooting for the first lot took place in Mymensingh. The shooting for the second lot will begin from January 11.
