Hoichoi announces new web series ‘Manbhanjan’

Marking the 158th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, Hoichoi, a leading Bengali on-demand video streaming platform, announced its upcoming original web series, Manbhanjan, adapted from the story of the same name by Tagore. It will start streaming on Hoichoi from May 31. Renowned filmmaker Abhijit Chowdhury directed the series, which stars Sohini Sarkar, Amrita Chattopadhyay and Anirban Bhattacharya.

The plot of Manbhanjan revolves around Giribala‚ a housewife who leads a lonely life. Giribala and her husband, Gopinath share a loving relationship when they get married, but soon, Gopinath falls out of love with his wife and starts seeing a glamorous theatre actor, Labanga.

“Works of Rabindranath Tagore play an integral role in Bangladesh’s culture. We announced the web series as a tribute to him on his birth anniversary,” said Sakib R Khan, Business Lead, Hoichoi, Bangladesh. The teaser of the series is out now on Hoichoi’s website and official YouTube channel.
