Hayat Saif receives Fazal Shahabuddin Poetry Award

Poet Hayat Saif and poet Habibullah Sirajee have been conferred with selected Poet Fazal Shahabuddin Poetry Award 2015.

Renowned poet Hayat Saif has been awarded with the 2015 award, while Poet Habibullah Sirajee will receive the 2016 award for their outstanding contributions to Bangla literature.

On February 3, on the occasion of Poet Fazal Shahabuddin's 80th birth anniversary, the award was handed over to Hayat Saif by noted Taiwanese poet Dr. Lee Kuei-shien, Fazal Shahabuddin's wife Azmeri Shahabuddin, and poet Aminur Rahman.

The award giving ceremony was held at Bishwa Shahittya Kendra auditorium in the capital. Among others, Swedish poet Bengt Berg, Slovakian poet Milan Richter, and Moroccan poet Dr. Benaissa Bouhmala were present at the ceremony.
