Police source's wrists severed

Staff Correspondent
Criminals yesterday cut off both wrists of a police informant in Tongi on the outskirts of the city.

Seven criminals picked up Jahed Ali, 35, an informant of Tongi Police Station, from his Ershadnagar shanty at around 8:30am.

They took him to a nearby field known as Akbarermath and severed his wrists.

Hearing his cry, locals rushed to the spot and took a critically injured Jahed to National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor).

Police nabbed five -- Jamal, Mamun, Dudu Miah, Jahangir and Masud -- and suspect they committed the crime over previous enmity.
