Admission under sports, cultural quotas cancelled at JU

The Central Admission Committee took a decision in this respect at a meeting on Wednesday in the face of students' demand.

The meeting, however, decided not to close admission under freedom fighter, ward and tribal quotas.

A total of 230 students were admitted under various quotas in 2003-04 academic session.

"The decision was taken observing the irregularities that took place last year in admitting students under quotas," said a member of the committee preferring anonymity.
