Death anniversary of Sirajuddin Hossain today

He remained missing since the Pakistani forces and their collaborators, Razakars and Al-Badr, took him away from his Chamelibagh residence on this day in 1971.

His writings helped mobilise support for the War of Liberation.

A pioneer of investigating reporting, Sirajuddin was the executive and news editor of the daily Ittefaq. He was awarded International Press Institute Award.

Milad mahfil will be held at his Dhaka residence at 3/11 Asad Avenue, Mohammadpur, Shaheed Sirajuddin Hossain College in Khajura and at his village home at Sharusuna in Magura.
