The first day of the 2-day tour match between England XI and Bangladesh Cricket Board XI at MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong has been abandoned due to wet outfield today.

If the ground conditions permit, each side will get the opportunity to bat maximum 45 overs tomorrow, reports our correspondent. The drainage system at the ground could not cope up with heavy rain at the port city, and the wet outfield was deemed improper for play.

England are scheduled to play two two-day games against BCB XI in order to prepare for the Tests.

Sabbir Rahman is the captain for the BCB XI team for the two-day encounter. Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, Rubel Hossain and Shahriar Nafees were included in the squad

While England have already announced their Test squad, the hosts are expected to finalise their team after the two practice matches.
