No information on whether Arav was detained in Dubai: IGP

Bangladesh police have no information on whether fugitive accused Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan was detained by Dubai police, Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mamun said today.

"We don't have any such information whether he [Arav] was detained there," he told journalists after a programme at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in Dhaka.

About the latest update, the IGP said Interpol has issued a red notice against Rabiul Islam.

"We are communucating with them [Interpol]," he added. In Dubai, the criminal accused in the murder of a police official, goes by the name of Arav Khan, owner of Dubai's Arav Jewellers.

Detective Branch of police on April 11, 2019 pressed charges against Arav aka Rabiul and nine others in the murder case of Mamun Emran Khan, the then inspector of special branch of police.
