‘Shibir man’ held over RU professor killing
Murder case handed over to DB
An alleged activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir was detained in connection with murder of AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee, a professor of Rajshahi University.
Hafizur Rahman was detained from a Shibir dominated student mess at Chhoto Bongram in Rajshahi city around 4:00am, our correspondent reports quoting Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Md Shamsuddin.

“Hafizur is a student of the university’s Public Administration department,” RMP Commissioner Shamsuddin told The Daily Star.
The murder case has been handed over to the Detective Branch of Police early today, the commissioner added.
Prof Siddiquee was brutally murdered in the city's Shalbagan area yesterday in an attack that police say bears the hallmark of the previous blogger killings.
